GFA 1501/1500 Pre-Requisite
This course prepares students to work in live event production across an exciting set of industries — including live traditional sports, esports, concerts, news, corporate events, and even livestreaming as an individual content creator. Students are introduced to skills like event design and planning, storytelling, camera work, lighting, graphic asset creation & integration, on-air commentary, and production control room operations using industry standard software and hardware.

Event Management for Live Production & Esports
Event Design for Live Production & Esports
This course focuses on live event production covering skills including tournament operation and administration, event and talent management, broadcast, livestreaming, and post-production. Students will have access to industry-standard software and equipment to gain a working familiarity with these tools and learn the necessary steps to propose, plan, produce, and market a professional event in a live digital entertainment and esports production facility.
Note: This class is typically only offered during the Spring semester.
Our craft courses are offered at both the 2000 and 3000 level. You would take one or the other, not both. The equivalent courses cover the same industry knowledge. The 3000 level courses typically include a little more academic rigor and extra academic assignments for students who need upper-level coursework as part of their degree requirements. Which one you take mostly depends on which one your school offers. If your school offers both, speak with your academic advisor about which one is the best option for you.

Hosting & Casting for Live Production & Esports
Creative Development for Live Production & Esports
This course is designed to equip students with entry-level skills and knowledge of hosting and livecasting for digital entertainment and esports. Students will develop techniques for on-camera and public speaking scenarios and sports broadcasting skills like play-by-play, analyst desk hosting, breath and tone control, pickups and drops, and interviewing. Students will study the appropriate style and tone for various genres of live production as they create an industry-standard demo reel.
