🍂What's Next Starts Here🍂

Your Cue to Get in on the Action

Greetings ,

The weather may not have caught up yet, but Fall is underway! As you settle into your classes, here's what's going on at the GFA that you won't want to miss. In this month's academics newsletter, we're covering:

📆Spring is Almost Here - Are You Ready?

The Fall semester may have just started, but Spring is right around the corner! With registration opening soon, we want to make sure you're ready to register for your next semester. Here are some things to think about as you prepare for Sping:

Do you know how to register?

USG Students: Registration is directly through your home institution, as you would for any of your other courses.

TCSG/Independent Students: Registration is directly through your home institution, as you did for your previous GFA course(s).

Pro Ed Students: Registration is directly through the GFA Pro Ed registration website linked on our landing page.

Do you know which classes are in your pathway?

Production Classes
Post-Production Classes
Live Production Classes

Do you know what classes will lead to earning your certification?

If you don't know what pathway you're in, or you're unsure what classes qualify to finish your certification, check out our Pathway Builder tool on your student hub!

Do you know the difference between our 2000 and 3000 level classes?

Our craft courses are offered at both the 2000 and 3000 level. You would take one or the other, not both. The equivalent  courses cover the same industry knowledge and satisfy the prerequisite requirements for the 4000 level classes. The 3000 level courses typically include a little more academic rigor and extra academic assignments for students who need upper-level coursework as part of their degree requirements. Which one you take mostly depends on which one your school offers. If your school offers both, speak with your academic advisor about which one is the best option for you.

Do you have a backup class in mind?

Some of our classes tend to fill up fast! We recommend that you have some back up options in case the class you want is full. If you want to add yourself to our waitlist, keep an eye on your student hub. The link to the waitlist will go live when registration opens.

Do you know which classes are only being offered in the Spring?

If you've had your eyes on these classes, definitely make them a priority in your planning. We only offer these during the Spring semester:

Are you interested in the internship?

The Spring 2027 internship application will open in mid-October. The link will be posted on your student hub when it is live.  Because interns won't be selected until December, we highly recommend that applicants (especially those who need GFA credits to graduate) register for a back-up class when registration opens.

Have you met the registration requirements for your school?

If you have a hold on your account or aren't allowed to register for classes at your school, it means you also won't be able to register for GFA classes. Make sure you meet with your academic advisor to ensure that you are ready to register.

Do you know where to find more information?

If you have more questions, don't forget to check out your student hub! We've tried to answer most FAQs there. We will also be hosting some virtual information sessions as registration gets closer.

Are you keeping an eye on your inbox?

Hopefully, especially if you're reading this email, you are staying up-to-date with what's going on at the GFA! Keep an eye out for our special registration edition newsletter coming in a few weeks.
