Archives & Genealogy Day will be held at the Georgia Archives on Saturday, October 4. 2025. This annual event features two dedicated tracks designed to expand your genealogy skills, research strategies, and access to valuable resources.

TRACK 1 - From Plan to Practice: Hands-On Genealogy at the Georgia Archives

A full-day workshop led by retired genealogy librarian, Laura W. Carter, and the expert staff at the Georgia Archives. This immersive program blends pre-event learning with on-site research support to help you turn your research plan into real results.

This Track is $30.

TRACK 2 - Expanding Your Search: Genealogy Resources in Local Archives and Libraries

This track highlights unique regional resources available through local institutions across Georgia. From collaborative efforts in Thomasville to the archival collections at Columbus State University and the new statewide Finding Aids portal from Georgia Public Library Service, these sessions will help genealogists discover materials and partnerships that extend beyond traditional research paths.

This Track is free. Walk-ins welcome.
