Film Production
Film a Short Film
(4-day and 5-day options)
Join us for an immersive, hands-on film production camp dedicated to the process of making films. Participants will learn core skills in pre-production, lighting, grip, sound, and camera movement as they work on sets created by students of Georgia Film Academy’s Set Construction and Art Department Industry Certification Courses.
This camp is ideal for any level of experience. The only pre-requisite is an interest in the process of creating movies!
Post-production
Edit a Short Film(s?)
This 3-day camp is designed for any student interested in understanding the “final mile” of film making: Post-Production. Participants will learn the essentials of video and sound editing as they edit the Production Camp footage shot earlier in the summer. Students will use either Adobe Premier or Davinci Resolve – though knowledge of either program is not required!
In addition to editing the Production Camp projects, campers will have the opportunity to work on special projects focused around video and sound design.
By the conclusion of the 3-day camp, guardians are invited to join us for a viewing of the completed films.
Specialty Film Camps
Acting

Art Department
5-Day Camp
The largest department on set: the Art Department. From costumes, to sets, to props, and everything in between, the Art Department is essential to a film’s look and feel. This camp will take you into the art of cinematic storytelling to explore the creative heart of filmmaking. Students will develop hands-on skills in production design, set decoration, and visual world‑building.
Advanced Cinematography
3-Day Camp
Get technical and hands-on with how lighting, composition, and camera movement shape scenes and capture audiences. By using professional cameras, lighting setups, dynamic shot techniques and the guidance of professional filmmaking instructors, students practice building scenes that use light and motion to enhance narrative impact. Students will work to refine their ideas and create shots that can be used as reference or portfolio.
Production Sound
3-Day Camp
If the sound is bad, the movie is bad. This camp will train students on how to capture great sound on set for different types of shots (including booms, planted mics, and lavaliers). Students will also get to work on special projects such as folly and ADR.
